Many people may wonder, "What is the measurement of the size of a picture frame?"

At aluna-frame, we sell products by their "inner dimensions."

So what size does "inner dimensions" refer to?

"Inner dimensions" refers to the dimensions of the space inside the frame to hold the artwork or acrylic.

An "A4 size" frame has an inner dimension that is A4 size, making it the perfect size to fit an A4 size work of art.

In addition to the internal dimensions,

The measurement from one outer edge of a frame to the other is called the "outer dimension."

The width at which the work can be seen from the front is called the "visible dimension."

In addition to "visible size," it is also called "window size."

Please note that because the frame has a latch, the apparent size of the artwork will be smaller than the actual size of the work.

"Kakari" refers to the part that hangs over the work. It serves the purpose of holding the work from the front so that it does not jump out of the frame. (See the figure below, ③)

① Rise…the thickness of the frame itself

② Visible width: The width of the frame when viewed from the front

③ Hanging: The part that hangs on top of the work

④Depth: The depth of the part inside the frame where the artwork is placed
